Who Are You Again?

Why hello there!
Who are you again, you ask?
I've been asking myself that same question lately!

I apologise profusely for my lack of existence on here in a loooooong time. I honestly just haven't felt like blogging for a long time. A lot has been happening in my personal life as well as uni kicking my ass - they weren't lying when they said third year was going to be a testing year! I also got a new job a few months ago, so juggling that and my uni work is proving to be... a little challenging to say the least.

It's nearly Christmas though! Woop woop!
And we all know I have a deep love for Christmas. I've been to the Nottingham Christmas Light Switch-On (again), and then of course I've been around the Winter Wonderland market here (obviously).

I also went to meet my bestest girl in Manchester so that we could catch-up whilst drinking mulled wine and touring the huge Christmas Market there - it was incredible (again, obviously).

I officially finished all of my uni deadlines for this term on last Friday too, which means I've finished all my deadlines for this year! How freakin' crazy is that?! It does mean I could relax a little bit more though for my final week of uni before I go home and get all the baby cuddles and snuggles. Then again, a lot of said babies are getting older now and try to wriggle away when I finally catch them to steal a cuddle *insert my sad, pouty face*.

I guess I have a hell of a lot to catch you up on then, considering the last time I blogged was in June - I'm a bad person (and blogger), I know.

So what's there to tell you?

Well, I spent most of my summer working and going around lots of UK beaches with my grandparents in their caravan (I made a nearby beach be the specification to whichever campsite they looked at).

And of course I spent a hell of a lot of time with all my little ones. I took Daisy to Edinburgh for the day with my friend and we went to the zoo during my summer break as a late Christmas present/early birthday present for her. The week before we went and all of the day we went she was singing "We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo" which is apparently a nursery rhyme she sings in nursery now, or so she told me. Whatever the case, it was the frickin' cutest thing you've ever seen!

Talking of my little munchkins, it was three of their birthdays and two in the same week during summer and they had an adorable little, frozen-themed, joint birthday party, which I was chief photographer for because I am the queen of taking too many pictures...

I also took way too many pictures a few months ago when we all went away for a little camping holiday which provided a well-needed break from uni as well as smiles and cuddles from a huge amount of cuteness!

My mama and I had a lovely little break away for a week in Glasgow. It was so relaxing and we got to catch up with some old friends too whilst we were there. My mum even let me drag her around the shops for the day, and anyone who knows my mum will know that this is a BIG deal because she hates shopping. And when I say 'hate' I mean hates shopping. So thanks for grinning and bearing it for me, mama.

I moved into a house with some of my uni girls, and my room is the best and the homiest ever (once again, thanks mama Fi *mwah*). I have a picture wall in the form of wardrobe doors this year, just to mix it up a bit.

I was also lucky enough to get to go and see Imagine Dragons whilst they were in Nottingham on tour and it was, without doubt, one of the best concerts I've ever been to (although I feel like I say that about all of the concerts I go to).

I'm struggling to think of anything else worth telling you now... I've been so lucky to do so many lovely things lately that I just can't think of them all at once. That always happens, I sit down to write, thinking I've got so much to say, then realise, actually, I have nothing. Nada. Zero. Noth-ing.

Oh well. I hope you've enjoyed this little catch-up and, who knows, maybe I won't leave it six months before I blog again. Then again, maybe I will. Guess you'll just have to watch and see!

I'm Back!

Hello!

Remember me? No? Didn't think so. Oops.

Long time no talk. This feels so weird to be writing on here again. I've missed it soooo much.

I've been gone for a very, very long time and I don't even have any excuses for that... I don't think "the dog ate my homework" excuse is going to quite cut it!

There has been so much happening since I was last on here, so I thought I'd update you on everything 'life'!

First of all, the last time I blogged was four days before Megan, Sophie and Daisy's little brother, named Oscar, was born and he is just adorable, I'm so proud to say I was there for the whole thing and was one of the first people to get to steal lots of cuddles from him - he's made me a very proud godmother, it'll also be a great story to tell all of his future girlfriends; you've been warned Little O!

I then realised I only had a few weeks until I was going back to uni and I wanted to dedicate as much of my time to my family as possible, which meant this little space taking a bit of a backseat, even more so when I got to uni and was landed with a lot of work to do. However, I did a blog post HERE, quite a while ago, about the realities of university and although I very much stand by what I wrote, things have definitely gotten a lot better for me this year in terms of my flatmates and friends but I might do a different, slightly-updated, blog post on another version of university I've found this year.

Now I'm trying to write it all down, I'm seriously forgetting half of the things I've done over the past few months - brain failure!

I moved into my new uni flat on the 19th September and pretty much all of my time since then has been consumed by some new and amazing friends that I've made, as well as the massive workload I've managed to accumulate lately, but seen as I'm going to do a different blog post on university happenings we'll skip to the latest events which is...

The welcoming of my new, beautiful little nephew to the world. Yep, that's right. Another little nephew to run me ragged and spoil tons! Harry Robert Murphy was born on the 28th October and I got a lovely text from my brother announcing he'd finally arrived, what made it even better was I was going home that coming weekend so I wouldn't have to wait the weeks to see him I originally thought I was going to have to - which reminds me, I also went to see Ben Montague and Shane Filan when they visited Carlisle, whilst I was home that weekend; they were both awesome!

I think that's pretty much everything... All of the main goings-on in my life anyway! I'll try not to leave it so long before my next blog post!

A Mid Week Pick-Me-Up #5

Hello!

Since going to university my confidence has massively grown and my best friend likes to constantly remind me how proud of me she is (she's a cutie). I think this quote in particular is something I need to recognise and act on more to keep my confidence levels edging up!

"A simple "hello" could lead to a million things" - Unknown

I've always, as in my entire life, been that shy girl that doesn't talk to anyone and just muddles through, doing as I'm told and being ignored... Not going to lie, I liked that method a lot through high school! Now I'm at uni though, I need to be more confident and talkative and actually say hello to people because otherwise I'm going to be one lonely person.

The thing is, all I need to say is one little world, "hello", and I could meet some amazing people but, as I'm sure you know, I seriously over-think everything, so I sit and think I should say "hello" but what if they don't want to talk to me or they're perfectly fine without me butting in etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. They probably don't care if I say hello or not, they probably haven't even given it a thought but we could all find some amazing people in this world if we just say that one simple little greeting to people, no matter where you come from in the world, there is one word in any language that could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

So today's ending is going to be the same as the beginning.

Hello!

Have you read the previous Mid Week Pick-Me-Up's?

Avoiding the Important Things

Hello!

I have been going to start this blog for weeks now but I kept putting it off, knowing that I had way too many other things that I should probably be focusing on instead, like the many essays and portfolios that needed to be completed. They're done now and I only have my exam to focus on, so I figured why not get this beautiful little world opened up!

Yes, I should be revising right now but everyone needs to take a break at some point and what better way to take a break than to start a blog... Okay, yeah, that's just an excuse to avoid my revision, you're right. Let's move on...

A little something about me:

That's me!

Well, I'm a student in my first year of university.
I study English and Creative Writing.
I love to write. A lot. (Hence why blogging is perfect for me).
I over-think everything. It's my worst habit, by far.
I guess with over-thinking comes procrastination; I'm queen of that.
I'm not much of a party-goer - sorry to let down the rest of the university population.
Chocolate, I love you.
And, I love, love, love to read.

A hint at what's to come:

This isn't going to be a very subject-specific blog, like a lifestyle or beauty blog (sorry!).
It's probably going to be the most random place you'll come across.
I should have called this blog "Welcome to My Brain" or "Random Blog"... Then again, what's more random than Pink Daisies?
There will be all sorts appear on here - little bits of everything that interest me;
Book recommendations,
Beauty loves,
Fashion faves,
Life-y bits (expect lots of cute babies; there are a lot in my family!),
Maybe even little snippets of stories I've written, in the future!
Think of anything and it will no doubt turn up on here at some point!

I hope I haven't managed to bore you already!
